How Can Rectal Prolapse With Incomplete Stool Evacuation Be Treated?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... i am 29 year old male who was suffering from complete rectal prolapse for 17 t0 18 year. Before 2 months i have undergone surgical operation (rectopexy + thiersch wiring)successsfully to treat this problem. but after surgery i have always feeling that my rectum is not vaccant completly after passing the stool. if i go again after some time for defecation small ammount of stool comes out but not emptied completly. i am not taking any medication now except stool softner. my doctor told me that this problem will correct automatically. 2 month has gone but problem is as it is. can u please give your valuable suggestion that how mach time it will take to correct this problem or it will be as it is or the processor i have undergone was correct with respect to my age. Please suggest for any treatment like medications or exercise. you will be highly obliged for giving your valuable suggestion.
It is good that Rectopexy with Thiersch's stitch helped you well for rectal prolapse of long duration. The feeling of no complete evacuation is one of the known sequels.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Consult your operating Surgeon for examination like ano-proctoscopy and colonoscopy. - Barium Enema helps. - Now-a-days defecating MRI or CT scan can be done to see for the exact problems. - Regular enema can help to regularize. - Change of diet, avoiding stress and anxiety can help you further.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
