How Can Red And Inflamed Boils On The Body Be Treated?
A few weeks ago I discovered a large looking pimple underneath my left breast...I assumed it was a boil....it became scaling in the centre before it eventually disappeared...a few days later similar type of boil looking lump appeared on the area around my nipple ...days passed and I continually checked it again became scaled in the centre like a layering of skin...that again disappeared...I have one now which I beleive in my face cheek...which for a few days thought it was a spot...but yet again the layering of scale like skin around the centre...tonight one has appeared underneath my armpit...it looks quite red and inflamed around the edge ....I have no idea and am getting concerned!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history of boils, my treatment advice is:
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like iBuprofen for 5 to 7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Levofloxacin, Cefadroxil, and Azithromycin which should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
