Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is very important to rule out dandruff from scalp psoriasis: which is a chronic skin disease which manifests as dry patches with flakes along with intense itching. These flakes when removed one can see pinpoint bleeding from the site. In case you have dandruff, the anti-dandruff shampoo must be used once every 2 days and left on wet scalp for at least 7 to 8 minutes and then washed off.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Smruti Pevekar
