How Can Severe Depression While On Wellbutrin, Citalopram, And Prazosin Be Treated?

My husband is severely depressed. He is currently Taking welbutrin, citalapram, and prozasin. Only 6 weeks on this regimen. He is crying, angry, and hurts inside . He sees his dr. On Thursday. Is there a diet that could also help. I feel so helpless.

Hello thanks for asking

I can understand your concern. He is having Depressive disorder and is on Wellbutrin, Citalopram and Prazosin. Wellbutrin and Citalopram are antidepressants and have great efficacy. He is on these drugs since 6 weeks and this means that he has been given adequate trial.

If evne on these medicines his symptoms are persisting then low dose antipsychotics can be added to his prescription. Drugs like Olanzapine or Risperidone can be added for his resistant depression symptoms and will definitely help him. Even addition of Lithium carbonate or Lamortrigine can help. Please talk with his psychiatrist for prescription.
