How Can Severe Depression With Intentions Of Dying Be Treated In A 14-year-old?
Hello, thank you.............my fourteen year old grandson has just been diagnosed with Severe Depression and the doctor gave him some low dosage Prozac. He is now in his bedroom refusing to come out of it and saying he wants to die. Should my daughter call the Crisis Hot line or what?

Since he is alone in the room having suicidal ideation, try to get him out of the room and take him to the emergency room as soon as possible. If you are unable to get him out of the room, call 911 for help.
