How Can Severe Dizziness Post Menopause Be Treated?

I am 67, post menopausal female, retired RN...having intermittent dizzy spells, more so with turning my head or bending forward. Hypertension controlled with meds. Just feel tired all the time. Good appetite, tho. Had a spinal tap to rule out normal pressure hydrocephalus...Other issue is urinary leakage and sometimes lose entire control of voiding. Limits my confidence in being out with people. YYYY@YYYY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If the dizzy spell is the main concern then it may be due to vestibular dysfunction, low blood supply to the vestibular system may cause the dizziness, else it is nothing to take anything with the history given here, functional disorders may be the cause of dizziness, in my opinion symptom of dizziness can be tried with antihistamine like Betahistine can be taken twice in a day dose can be increase up to three times in day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtar Husain
