Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Severe Pain In The Shoulder Blade Be Treated?
I have a sharp debilitating pain in my left shoulder blade. It came on all of a sudden about 2 days ago. Range of motion other than bending over is not affected and if I lay down or recline the pain goes away or at least to an ache. What could this be and what can I do to treat?
In my opinion, the pain could be from pressure on one of the nerves in the cervical spine. Maybe due to cervical spondylosis or cervical disc prolapse. Start painkillers, muscle relaxants and physiotherapy. If no relief, go for an X-ray or MRI of the cervical spine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
