How Can Severe Redness And Itching Sensation On The Face Be Treated?
I have had this rash for nearly 4 weeks. There is severe redness on most of my face except for the area just above the nose down to my lips and it is clear skin about a quarter to half inch around my nose. I ve had something like it about 14 years ago and was diagnoised with Rosecea. Nobody seems to know what it is. It looks like some swelling in places like my chin area. When I clean my face with cool water and pat dry, it will dry and start itching and becomes hot to touch. Any ideas? YYYY@YYYY
As per your query you have symptoms of severe redness and itching sensation on the face which could be due to due to various hormonal imbalances, stress, poor hygiene and due to clogged facial pores that get infected with bacteria.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you apply cold compresses or ice pack to the affected area and stop using any cosmetic product that you started in the recent past. You should protect your skin from UV radiations of sun and take an antihistamine like Benadryl. If condition doesn't get better in 24 hours then consult dermatologist again for proper examination. The doctor may order an allergy test, skin patch test or blood test to confirm the diagnosis and may prescribe steroid medicine or antibiotics.
