I sometimes get severe throbbing in my forehead. Its mainly if I move to quickly But also occurs if i laugh too hard and sometimes the pain lingers for a couple of hours after, similar to a headache but its noy. The first time it happened i had donated blood that morning and that night was at uni watching a football match when I stood up because we scored a try. The pain was so bad it put me straight back down in my seat. It lasts for about 10-15 seconds then goes away but its so intense it almost makes me cry. This has happened on and off for 10 years but now after it happens it continues with smaller movements but the pain is still the same and lingers for a few hours like a headache.
Hello! I read your question and understand your concern. In my opinion the headache you have experiences seems like stabbing headache, a common type of headache, without any obvious cause. It is very typically located in the forehead and lasts some seconds. I would recommend treatment with aspirine or indomethacine , for recurrent attacks. If the problem persists I would recommend a good neurological examination by a neurologist. Hope to have been helpful! Thank you for using HCM! Best wishes, Dr. Abaz Quka
