How Can Shortness Of Breath Be Treated After Treating Bronchitis A Few Years Back?

Hi I have a question? I was diagnosed with bronchitis a few years ago and end up in the hospital for awhile along with having surgery on my lungs. I also was placed on an oxygen tank for a while. The doctors never found out the cause of my systems. Going forward to this day I am still having issues with my breathing and having shortness of breath. Is there anything I can do to help with my shortness of breath?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Shortness of breath can be due to developing asthma. Asthma occurs due to pollen, air pollution, allergy, stress or anxiety, anaemia. Stay away from all this. Stop addictions if any. You need to be physically examined by a PCP, visit ER. Your PCP will get you some investigations done to rule out conditions like COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, hypotension, heart dysfunction or lung cancer, etc. Take Probiotics & healthy food.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
