Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking Citalopram. I just saw a list of side effects and several are a real problems for me. I used to take another drug and did not have these problems but that drug went off formulary and I had to change. My primary care doctor put me on Citalopram. She never said anything about side effects (like she had checked out the med) I know I cannot stop taking the drug but I have no confidence in what she might change me to if I tell her about the side effects. She knows I have balance problems for example but did she ever check the possibility that it might be the antidepressant.Balance is not the only side effect I seem to have.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, every drug has its own side effects. same like Citalopram. Are you having depression or other neuropathy, etc?
If you're experiencing gait disturbance then you may consult your physician, he will examine and treat you appropriate drug which may match to your symptoms.
Take care.
