How Can Sinus Congestion And Sore Throat Be Treated?

Hi my name is Gloria I'm a 60 year old female. I had surgery in May of last year o my sinuses. Shortly after I was so sick, I knew somethi g was very wtong, it turned out to be psudomonas aeruginosa, my new ent gave me an a tibiotic in oct. I have not been a or to see him this year because of ins. Problems, however I can't get rid of this tree mucus and sore throat. I'm miserable. I don't know when I'll be able to see my dr. Do you think I ca n conti i.e. waiting or do I need to go to er?

I am sorry to hear about what you are going through. If you have completed your course of antibiotics, you should be clear of the Pseudomonas infection. For the sore throat and mucus, you should try salt water gargling and steam inhalation 2-3 times a day. Additionally, you could take an antihistaminic like Levocetirizine for a few days. In the meantime, you should fix up an appointment with your ENT doctor.
