How Can Skin Peeling With Fingernails Loss Be Treated?

My husbands hands are peeling and he has to constantly put lotion on them. Then I noticed he is losing his fingernails. They turn white starting at the top of the nail and so he cuts them down and he has to cut them really short. He has always hasd nice nails. He is not a nail biter. This has been happening for like a year or 2.

Hi.
As per your case history your husband may be having keratolysis exfolitiva leading to peeling of skin.
Brittle nails may be associated with it or it maybe due to vitamin deficiency.
My treatment advice is -
1. Take healthy nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables.
2. Take a multivitamin tablet like supradyn once daily.
3. Use an emolient cream like enmoist cream on peeling part.

Thanks
Dr. Harshit bhachech
