Hi, Thanks for asking.
I would like to know whether your child has any motor problems or speech problems?
Is his development normal?
Is he drooling saliva?
You may give him oromotor stimulation program which includes oro motor massage and exercises. You may give him oral massage with a Nuk brush. If he does not approximate his lips apply honey on his lips and let him lick. You may consult an early interventionist to to the oro motor program for him.
I hope i have helped you.
Thank you.

Pediatrician Dr. Meera Kotecha's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking.
I would like to know whether he has any other developmental delay? Did he develop mouthing at appropriate age of one to one and a half year?
In my opinion you should start oro motor stimulation program for him where you need to massage his mouth with a nuck brush, few oral exercises like blowing, sucking etc. An occupational therapist may be able to help you regarding this.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
