Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 71 year old husband experiences leg stiffness that has worsened over the last few years. It is getting hard to put his socks on or swing a leg over onto a bicycle. Should he see a Physical Therapist or his dr? He has always had poor circulation in lower legs.
Hi, I have read your question and understand your concerns regarding your husband's condition.
Answer: I think it is better that he sees his doctor who will thoroughly examine his legs and, if necessary, run some tests (blood, ultrasound) to check the current status of blood circulation and other possible factors that might be causing stiffness in the legs. The doctor may refer him to a physiotherapist if needed.
Hope this helps and do not hesitate to contact me for any further clarification.
