You are suggested to help him keep his blood sugar in control at any cost. He should take a well-balanced diet prepared at home. Give him food that is cooked in olive oil or just boiled. Avoid giving fried food, spicy food, junk or packaged and processed food. He can take antacids or PPIs, one when needed to get rid of gastritis or acidity. He should keep himself adequately hydrated.
To get relieve from backache he can get connected to a Physical therapist. Exercises, regular walking and maintaining a healthy weight will help to get relieved of pain. Get him clinically examined by a Neurologist. Get nerve conduction velocity tests, imaging tests done. His treatment will depend on the pathology detected. He will be given conservative treatment or recommended other treatment and therapy if required.
