My 2 year-old grandson hit his forehead, above his right eye, causing a typical goose egg swelling and a minor abrasion. This happened on Sunday. Today he has a black eye. The discoloration is at the medial aspect of his right eye. I was, a long time ago, an EMT in the Air Force and I seem to recall a black eye following a head injury could be a symptom of a skull fracture. I don t want to scare his mother unnecessarily, but if this is a real possibility, I ll tell her. Your thoughts?
