How Can Swelling And Inflammation In The Finger Be Treated?

My finger is swollen and hard and reddended after working in the garden yesterday. It was possibly from a rose thorn or rasberries prickers. I see no thorn or obvious foreign body under the skin. Besides going to the doctor, what would be the drug of choice? Will Lamisil (I currently am taking the topical cream) help if its from the rose fungus? YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

You may be suffering from rose thorn induced synovitis or joint inflammation. Sporothrix fungus that lives on rose thorns cannot live on human skin or nails, where other fungi may have little or no effect on the host's comfort or health. If Sporothrix is injected into the skin by a prick, however, it can transform into a yeast and spread beyond the original wound.

So, use cold compression and heat compression. Use tablet Diclofenac Sodium twice a day for five days. Use antibiotics under your doctor guidance.

Hope I have answered your query.
