How Can Swelling In The Elbows Be Treated?

My mom is 75years great health not on any daily meds. Probably only to the doctor 3 times in the past 40 years. weight = 107, height = 5 feet, 3 days ago she woke up to what I think is tennis elbow. Swollen, warm to tough at times, it has gone down some but then inflates back. We have tried warm packs, slight compression band, aspirin 2x a day. any suggestions? She does not want to go to the doctor. Stuburn!

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Swollen, and warm to touch elbow is suggesting bursitis (inflammation of the synovial fluid or soft tissues of the elbow joint).

To speed up recovery, I advise to:
- apply cold compresses on elbow joint , avoid warm packs
- apply analgesic cream you find over the counter
- take oral anti-inflammatory meds (ibuprofen, etc.)

If no improvement, should consult with her physician.

Wish fast recovery.
