How Can Swelling Of Ears As A Result Of Injury Be Treated?
My son (22) had an accident a year back, when his right ear was injured and swollen, during the first aid administered in the Govt.hospital they seemd to have scratched the inner ear resulting in the external canal being heavily stenosed with tissue, ENT docs removed the tissue with a CO2 Lazer burn in various sittings , but after 6 months we found the ear stenosed again. His hearing is about 85 % and all other parts of the ear seems good. However he went through a sinus attack due to passing through a dusty environment , resulting in a bad cold. For the first time we saw some thick yellowish mucus like flum comming out of the ear. Ant suggestions for treatment.
Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, your son ear canal us stenosed because of ear injury. Secondly because of his bad cold he has middle ear infection, and because of that, there is yellow pus discharge coming out. If i were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed penicillin antibiotics + anti inflammatory medicines for 5 to 7 days to reduce the middle ear infection. For stenosed ear canal , it can be corrected by surgery only. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
