How Can Swollen Arm Nodes With Pus And Tonsillitis Be Treated?

32 year old male, first several swollen nodes under arms, pimple like, then puss filled, eventually going away. Three months later one more popped up and then another nevt to it. Had a sore throat in between the time of the first breakout and the second & was diagnosed with tonsilitis, never had it before. Had a flu about a week before the last lymph node swelling. I d like to chalk it up to deodorant but the flu & soree throat has me wondering.

Hi,

Noted your history of recurrent swelling, pus in arm-pit, developed tonsillitis, had a flu, wants to know whether related. Well, there can be few diseases occurring simultaneously and some disease can reduce the natural resistance power to allow other problems to creep up.

Since you are 32 years old I would advise you to get the clinical evaluation of all the conditions by your Doctor, get investigated by tests of blood for CBC, diabetes, renal and liver functions and as would be advised by your Doctor and referral to the Specialist as and when needed. The lumps in armpit can be due to Hidradenitis and thus should be confirmed and treated accordingly after basic investigations for autoimmune diseases too.

Sore throat and tonsillitis can be due to flu or added secondary infection and should be treated with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicines, symptomatic and supportive management till cured.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
