How Can Terrible Nausea Be Avoided While Travelling Long Distances By Car?

I m driving back from Houston Tx and I kinda get car sick after about 3 hours, but this time I feel not just car sick but I feel like I m going to throw up and I m nauseous and my throught is hurting me, can my sprite help with this, I just took some medicine for my stomach but I m scared to eat, what should I do for the remaining 5 hours in the car?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you took an anti emetic such as dramamine or meclizine, this should help settle the nausea and would also help with the car sick sensation.
These medications also cause drowsiness, so it is possible that you may sleep a few hours.

Do not use a lot of fluid at a time because this may provoke vomiting, only small sips.
It maybe best to use plain water or another non carbonated drinks. Carbonated drinks such as sprite can also potentially irritate the stomach.

If the medication does not kick in and you have nausea and become hungry the dry foods such as biscuits would be best.
