How Can Throat Discomfort After Removing A Fish Scale Be Treated?
Hi, a family member swallowed a fish scale, and it rested above her throat, she managed to get it out, but it has since caused her much discomfort, therefore is struggling to swallow. The discomfort is taking place from jst above her throat thru to her nasal passage. Her voice is also very shaky, she also is having trouble spitting.

There is a possibility that due to swallowing of the fish scale and forcefully removing it there is swelling and inflammation of the throat. If there is difficulty in swallowing and even spitting then it should be taken care of and you should consult an Emergency and get evaluated.. For now she should do warm saline gargles and take anti inflammatory painkillers like Advil. Take more of fluids and semi solid foods.
