How Can Ulnolunate Impaction Syndrome Be Treated?

I took a mri and the impression is joint effusion with synovis and some infusion at the level of the radial ulner synostosis . Also the signal intensity of the carpals are normal except for small subcortial cystic changes of the Lunate suggestive of the ulnar lunate impaction syndrome . The scaphoid is normal. However, there is evidence of joint effusion around the scaphoid and also evidence of subcutaneous bony edema of the wrist at the level of of the radial side . Impression ( 1 - suggestions of a triangular fibrocarthtilage complex tear at the level of the radiounar component 2 - suspeciose for ulnar impaction syndrome . Well , i have been trying to change my diet , take bone supplements etc trying to avoid surgery and getting a bill that i can not aford . Alot of the times i am in so much pain and i can not use my left hand at all . Is there a way i can get rid of the pain and use my hand again without having surgery . By healing myself the natural way thru diet and bone supplements etc There is also conflicting stories about goat milk and arthrits . I drink goat milk every morning . I am assuming i have artritis is that correct ? If you could let me know what the mri means in simple terms i would appreciate it . I do not understand if this is athritis or something else . Thank you susan glanzman

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

This is not arthritis. Your MRI of left wrist is suggestive of ligament tear at the outer aspect of wrist joint. Triangular fibrocartilage complex is very important for normal wrist function and you have tear of this important wrist structure. You need to consult an arthroscopic surgeon and get it done as soon as possible. Dealt surgery may lead to poor results.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jayesh Vaza, Orthopaedic Surgeon
