Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife hasn t urinated since 8:00 a.m. this morning. It is not 13 hours later. I took her to the doctor today but she couldn t give a specimen so he didn t prescribe any medication. He belives she may have a bladder or kidney infections. However, she is in no pain. P.S. in 2009 she was tested for Moderate Dementia which she has lived with since.
If she has not passed urine for around 24 hours and feels discomfort / bloating sensation in lower abdomen then you should consult surgeon immediately. Urinary catheterization is required to prevent back flow of urine to kidney and ultimately kidney infection and damage.
Regards Dr. Hiren
