Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Vaginal prolapse is a condition in which structures such as the uterus,
rectum, bladder,
urethra, small bowel, or the vagina itself may fall out of their normal positions.
Most vaginal prolapses will gradually worsen over time if not attended to and can only be fully corrected with surgery.
Non-surgical means include:
1. Activity modification such as avoiding heavy lifting or straining.
2. Use of pessary, which is a small device made of soft plastic or rubber, that is placed within the vagina for support.
3. Kegel exercises, which to tighten the muscles of the
pelvic floor.
4.
Estrogen replacement therapy may be used to help the body strengthen the muscles in and around the vagina.
Before trying the non-surgical means of treatment, clinical examination is a must as it tells about the degree of weakness and type of prolapse.
This will help to determine as to which type of treatment could be suited best to overcome the problem.
Kindly consult Gynaecologist for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided helps.
All the best.
