How Can Vitamin B12 Deficiency And Anemia Be Treated While Suffering From Pneumonia?
My 72 year old husband has been diagnosed with pneumonia. His blood work shows a low red blood cell count, low Vitamin B-12, and anemia. He has had prostate cancer surgery in the past and is keeping it at bay with Lupron injections. His blood work shows no kidney or other intestinal issues. He has had no recent surgery. He did a second blood draw.

Low red blood cell in infection is common phenomenon and it is nothing to worry, if the infection is acute then it lower the hemoglobin too, but once the infection eradicates everything becomes normal, other medical history has nothing to do with the low red count and deficiency of vitamin B12 even it is not related with pneumonia infection, chronic illness improper diet could be cause of vitamin B12 deficiency.
