Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The most common reason for vomiting and diarrhea is an infection of the gastrointestinal tract. Which can be viral or bacterial.
Viral infection is more common and most of the symptoms last a few days only.
Treatment: (1) Need to replace the fluids lost. If you still feel nauseous, then you need to take small amounts at a time but if nausea has resolved then larger quantities can be used. Oral rehydration packet or fluids is best to give back both fluids and electrolytes (2) Hold off solids until there is a 4-hour window with no symptoms then restart with small dry food (3) Probiotics (4) Pepto-Bismol may be helpful
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
