How Can Vomiting And Diarrhea Due To Food Poisoning Be Treated?

My husband violently threw up this morning about 6:30. A few hours prior to this, he had diahrea. So we suspect food poisoning. It is now 7 hours later and all he is doing is sleeping. He has had some water and probably 4 ounces of Gatorade to drink and was able to keep that down. His color looks good. When he gets up, I'll have him take his temperature. I made some white rice and we have applesauce for him to eat but are there any other suggestions you might have.

Hello,

He may be suffering from acute gastroenteritis. Also possible of food poisoning. But in food poisoning all family members are involved due to same food.Make him to drink plenty of water, avoid spicy food. Use ORS liquids orally. use tablet sporulac thrice a day for five days.

If vomiting not controlled need to take tablet Ondonsetron twice a day for five days. Get stool examination and culture, hanging drop preparation.If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
