How Do I Transition Into Estroven After Abdominal Hysterectomy?
Had abdominal total hysterectomy Sept 26, did not start estradiol until 10/17. I want to try the estroven since my hot flashes and not sleeping are extreme.. The RX from dr does not seem to be working. How do I transition into the estroven. I also have a thyroid (over active) and would just prefer to take the over the counter replacement, Estradiol is 1 mg and I was told to take at night.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Before Starting any hormonal therapy, a through general examination with complete blood investigation is must. It is advisable to check your hormone levels estrogen and thyroid hormones. I never advice my patients to use the counter medicines blindly for hormonal problems. In case of patients suffering from thyroid disorders, i recommend them check the thyroid profile once in 3 or 6 months based on their symptoms and control.
Thus i recommend you do all the investigations and then consult a endocrinologist for further management. Hope this helps Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.
