How Do I Lose Weight And Stay Healthy After Salpingo Oophorectomy?

I had a bilateral salpingo oophorectomy on May 6, I have just recently noticed I have more acne around my jaw line then I ever had in younger years, I also have gained weight and have a huge appetite! I am 38, a dialysis patient and I had them removed due to endometrial cysts. How do I lose weight and stay healthy after this type op immediate change to my body

Hi,

Yes salpingo oophorectomy can lead to weight gain as the ovaries are removed and that leads to loss of female hormones like estrogen which can cause weight gain and even acne.

My advise is to take low dose OC pills which will provide the neccessary hormones and will help in keeping the weight under control.

Also regular exercise and a healthy balanced diet ( preferably from a dietician since you are on dialysis too) will be better.
