How Do You Relieve Pain In The Leg Muscles And Hips?

I have had muscle pain/aches since taking a statin. I stopped taking it after a month. This is two months after stopping the statin and I still have much leg pain. Also hip pain. At night I have such leg discomfort that It is very hard to sleep. It comes and goes. Mostly I feel like I had a very hard workout (which I haven t) and feel very sore.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pain in the legs, thighs & hips commonly occurs due to side effects of statins.

You are suggested to get re-examined by your treating doctor & go for a repeat lipid profile to check your triglyceride & cholesterol levels to monitor the dose of statins.

In the meantime, you can apply pain-relieving ointments & take pain-relieving medications to feel better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
