Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I really appreciate your concern for the role of Novidoxine during
pregnancy.
There are two drugs present in
Navidoxine tablet
Meclizine &
Pyridoxine.
MECLIZINE is an antihistamine used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting that occurs during early pregnancy referred to as "Morning sickness"
Meclizine has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA.
Although meclizine has been shown to be teratogenic in animals, studies of meclizine use in the first trimester of human pregnancy found no increase in the rate of malformations.
Meclizine is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
PYRIDOXINE (Vitamin B6) is also used in pregnancy to control morning sickness.
I hope that your wife might have received proper advise about diet changes.
Meals should be small and frequent.
She should avoid fatty meals.
She should take food rich in
carbohydrate and protein.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing your wife an enjoyable pregnancy.
