Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has been diagnosed for 5 1/2 years with Parkinson s. He is 84 years old. Recently, he has been having hallucinations when he is awake and very active dreams at night. I am interested in the stages of Parkinson s. I would like to know where this is leading. He has dementia.
From the medical history of your husband you are reporting, I can think of dementia as responsible for his hallucinations. Degenerative changes in brain can happen in advised Parkinson disease.
The most important think is to keep regular follow ups with his psychiatrist to understand at what point degenerative changes has been altering his brain and memory.
All the best.
