How Does One Have Sexual Intimacy At An Older Age?
I am 66, and my sex drive is normal. My wife (50) is not interested in sex not even in embracing. I have asked her why again and again nd she says there is nothing wrong not even with me. She seems surprised by my questions. For a while she may hug me but soon she reverts back to her normal pattern of total disinterest in sex. All my attempts have failed and in my sexual frustration I resort to masturbation with all the guilt and shame that results. What should I do?
Usually as the age progresses sexual drive decreases this can be associated with menopause in women and also due to other reasons likr systemic diseases such as diabetes or thyroid disorder common these days so rule out all such causes when cause can't be found then another possibility is psychiatric disorder such as depression where sexual drive is reduced and then there may be a hypoactive sexual desire disorder which id usually managed with sexual therapy behavior therapy or couple therapy where both partners need to be involved other causes for avoiding sexual intrrcourse are dyspareunia and vaginismus to rule out such causes see a gynaecologist. A sex specialist and a psychiatrist.
