How Early Can HIV Be Detected After A Possible Exposure?

i have been potentially exposed to hiv virus , tested negative after five weeks and felt symtoms on week 8 and 9 and now on week 10. Is my test in five weeks that is 33 days after exposure conclusive, please help symtoms are still there it might be anxiety.

Hello,

You got tested at week nine, and the test is negative. If the test was antigen-antibody combo (HIV 1or HIV 2 RAPID DUO), then the sensitivity at that time was around 90-95%. The chances that the test will come positive in the future are less. To remain on the safe side, you should get yourself tested again at twelve weeks. The test is considered conclusive at twelve weeks of exposure.
