Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking 30mg of metermine for the past 2 months. In the first month I lost 5kgs and it really reduced my appetite. In the 2nd month I ve found my appetite is almost back to normal and I ve not lost anymore weight and feel like it has no effect. Should I have a break from taking it? Is metermine as effective as duromine? Or do I need to up my dosage to 40mg. Please help. Thanks
Metermine contains the active ingredient phentermine. This is also the active ingredient in duromine.
The difference in the name is because they may be made by a different company and therefore have to be marketed under different names though they are the same drug.
There are slight differences in manufacturer techniques but the drug should mostly act the same.
The dose should be adjusted , if needed, after discussion with your doctor.
I hope this helps
