How Effective Is Taking Pravachol For Leg Pain?

I had a problem with leg pain, then increasing weakness and finally stopped taking statins. It took almost three years, but with exercise I was able to rebuild my leg strength. A cardiologist recently suggested that I try Pravachol (sp?) since it has had the lowest incidence of problems. Now in my second month on the drug I am starting to have the same leg pain again and will go off the meds. Is there anything other than statins that will lower my cholesterol? I will go back to fish oil and Niacin for now, but your input would be appreciated.

Youhave stopped statin is ok. Taking paracetamol is good advice. Diagnosis for cause of leg pain has not been done. It appears you have high cholesterol level, for which you were taking statin. You can control it by avoiding cholesterol rich food like redmeat, egg, deepfried things.Regular exercise will help you. Smoking should be stopped. You can do yogic exercises. You should improve with all these precaution and excercises.
