I ve been taking anti malaria tablets for 8 weeks now along side the mini pill cerelle. Some people have said that the mini pill isn t effective whilst taking an antibiotic, is this so? I d like to know as I have been only using my mini pill as a contraceptive with my partner. Your help will be so great full.
Hello. Antibiotics, while they are being taken, can reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills, although that's more of an effect of standard antibiotics and not anti-malarial medications. You should talk to your doctor about this since it may still be a good idea to use condoms for the time being
