How Effective Is Topcef 200 For Tonsils Infection?
Hi, I have tonsils infection for the past one week and I have been using ab-cv 625 antibotic. But the pain in my tonsils area is still there.Earlier i have used Topcef 200 for Tonsils with positive results now can I change my antibiotic course to topcef 200
I can understand your concern. Yes, you can change the medicine to Topcef 200 if you are not having relief with the Amoxicillin-Clavulanic Acid combination.
Topcef 200 contains Cefixime 200 mg that is active against the bacteria that usually infect the upper respiratory tract as in tonsillitis. Amoxicillin-Clavulanic acid is also a good antibacterial combination but upper respiratory tract infection causing bacteria are found to be resistant to them recently. Thus Topcef 200 is a better choice for the tonsillitis.
The dosage I recommend is one tablet twice a day for 5 days. You can take Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg 8 hourly to have relief in pain.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
