How Important Is It To Get Double Markers Tests And Undergoing Scans After 12 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
Dr how important is it to get double markers tests and scans done after 12 weeks of pregnancy? I am in the US and my health insurance does not cover the cost of these tests and scans. I wanted to know if they are really required because my finances are very limited.

Double test is for screening of Down"s syndrome.
The screening tests include ultrasound scans, blood tests and a combination of the two.
The tests can't tell you for certain that your baby has or has not got Down's syndrome.
They just tell you how high your risk is.
This test should be carried out between 11 weeks to 13weeks+5 days.
