How Is Gyno-Travocort Cream Used For Itchy Burning Sensation Inside The Vagina Post Intercourse During Pregnancy?
Hello Doctor, I am 23 weeks pregnant and while sexual intercourse my vagina starts itching and burning inside after intercourse and becomes to swell. I discussed with my gyne and she prescribed me to use gyno-travocort cream, is it applied inside the vagina or at the out side.
There are several changes that occur in the vagina during pregnancy like changes in the pH, vaginal discharges will increase, vagina may become itchy, or painful. You are advised to stay at rest and to take care of your hygiene. You are suggested to take adequate amount of water and fluids.
Gyno- travort is antifungal medication that comes as creams and tablets. It is not suitable to be applied when pregnant. Avoid penetrative intercourse and maintain hygiene. If you are in a lot of discomfort, you are advised to visit your Gynae for a follow up check up.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
