Hello Since your husband is a doctor and were doing surgery and contaminated with the blood of HIV infected patient ????So sad and very very sorry. After going through many reading I reached a conclusion that there is minimal chance of your husband getting any infection. So please read 16th edition of HARRISON'S INTERNAL MEDICINE page no. 1136 for complete reference . Because in this reading everything and every risks are mentioned including treatment if required or necessary . What I am say , yesterday I myself pricked with a needle after some injection to a patient . So please don't worry in my opinion your husband didn't got infection at all with this rout. Good luck.
No HIV does not spread that way. HIV needs to go inside your blood stream through abraded skin and I presume your husband's forehead did had any ulcers . So don't worry , he can't get HIV even after being exposed to supposedly contaminated blood.
