Hi,
Tirosint is composed of
levothyroxine sodium. The active ingredient in
Synthroid is also levothyroxine sodium.
The difference which could be noted is the absorption of Levothyroxine from Synthroid may be inferior to that of Tirosint due to the presence of certain inactive ingredients.
Also, Tirosint is in a liquid form contained in a capsule and has been shown to be unaffected by changes in
gastric acid.
Tirosint has no artificial ingredients, gluten or lactose. It only contains four ingredients, which include thyroid hormone, gelatin,
glycerin and water.
With these differences, Tirosint has few of the advantages, when compared with other preparations. Kindly take the medication as per your doctor's prescription and do the necessary follow-up as advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
