My son had an MRI on his knee and is showed synovial thickening. He s 18 and has been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. He s very active and is hoping to play basketball soon. His physician is prescribing him a Medrol dose pack. If that doesn t help, would a cortisone shot be the next course of treatment?
