Hi there, my little boy needs myringoplasty. He is 7 years old. We are planning on immigrating shortly after his surgery and will need to undertake a long haul flight. How long after the operation will it be safe and comfortable for him to fly? Would you recommend us immigrating first and getting the operation done there? Thank you.
Noted the history about your 7 year old son needing myringoplasty and then to fly for migration; wants to know when can he fly after myringoplasty or better to get the surgery done after migration. Your son may need 3 weeks after surgery to fly. If the migration is imminent and urgent then the best choice is to get operated in the new place. Myringoplasty is not an urgent surgery and can always be planned. Till then continue basic medicines of decongestant, multivitamins, mineral and trace elements as these helps for better outcome of any surgery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
