How Long After Taking Norethisterone Periods Will Come To Normal?
I M considering taking Norethisterone to delay my period for my honeymoon but don t want to suffer prolonged symptoms of PMT as a result. Therefore I was thinking about using the drug to delay my period the couple of months before I get married in the hope that it will push my overall cycle back by a few weeks. Would this work? How long does it normally take for your cycle to get back to normal?
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. You can start Norethisterone 3-4 days before your expected date of menstruation and can take it till you don't want menstruation. Once you stop the medicine, you can expect your periods withing 2-3 days. Your next cycle will come after the routine interval that you have between two cycles (which is 28-32 days in most cases). So, in this way you can reset your cycle dates to postpone it for a few days. You should not take it for long time (more than 2 weeks) as taking it for more time may significantly disturb your current and future menstrual cycles. Hope this will be helpful. Do ask if any further question is there. Take care.
