How Long Before D&C Should Cytotec Be Taken?

I am scheduled to undergo a D & C tomorrow. The surgery starts at10:00 A.M. I was given a 200mg pill called cytotec- I was told to take it the night before surgery but I was not given a specific time. I want to be sure I am fully dilated. How long is the efficacy?
