I am 63 yrs old and had renal transplant in 2009 Iam taking Vertin 8mg once in night for vertigo for past 6 months I feel relieved from vertigo but it comes back when I stop medicine What should I do Is it safe to take vertin for longer period Does it reduce BP as my BP these days is 90/60 which used to be 110/70
Hello, Vertin is a vestibular sedative and should not be used for long time. It is to be used to stop the acute or recent episode of vertigo. For long term vertigo you should first consult an ent specialist to get examined and there are few tests to find out the reason for the vertigo, like hearing test and impedance audiometry etc and few other tests also. In stead of vertin you could use cinnarizine tablet which will not cause suppression of the vestibular system. Then there are few exercises for rehabilitaion of the vestibular system. In doubt do reply.
