Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In typhoid fever as rightly prescribed flouroquinolones are given as first line of management, if the fever is persisting then there is a chance of resistance in the organism from the antibiotic. the child should be taken for follow up because there are certain other parameters apart from fever which settle down with treatment that will be checked by your doctor, please continue oflox and take the child for followup medical checkup to your consulting doctor so that if the symptoms/signs are not responding then a secondline antibiotic can be started.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
